I am Jiamu Huang, a graduate student at UC Santa Barbara

Hi! I am Jiamu Huang, a second-year graduate student in the Physics Department at UC Santa Barbara. I am part of the ENIGMA Research Group (PI: Professor Joseph Hennawi), where I study the environment and large-scale structure around high redshift quasars by examining the clustering between galaxies and quasars. Through our group collaboration, I have access to data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). This data is crucial for understanding the evolution of active galactic nuclei (AGN) and galaxies in the early universe.

Before my research at UCSB, I was an undergraduate student at UC Santa Cruz. I studied Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) and star formation in their accretion disks through the chemical evolution in the AGN Broad emission Line Region (BLR) under the supervision of Prof. Douglas Lin at UC Santa Cruz and Gregory Shields.

I am also working on the AGN continuum- and line-reverberation mapping with Keith Horne at the University of St. Andrews.

Aside from research, I am interested in astrophotography (and taking photos in general). Please feel free to check my photography gallery page.
