Hi. I am Jiamu Huang, a second-year graduate student in the Physics Department at UC Santa Barbara. I am working with Professor Joseph Hennawi on the environment of high redshift quasars through the clustering between galaxies and quasars.
Before my research at UCSB, I was an undergraduate student at UC Santa Cruz. I studied Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) and star formation in their accretion disks through the chemical evolution in the AGN Broad emission Line Region (BLR) under the supervision of Professor Douglas Lin at UC Santa Cruz and Gregory Shields.
I am also working on the AGN continuum- and line-reverberation mapping with Professor Keith Horne at the University of St. Andrews.
Aside from research, I am interested in astrophotography (and taking photos in general). Please feel free to check my photography gallery page. I am also a fan of skiing, and some of my favorite skiing spots are Mammoth Lakes in California, Alta in Utah, and Nagano in Japan, and many more!
